Required R&R: Lassen Volcanic National Park

In the fall of 2016, the CEO of my company required everyone take 5 days in a row off, fully paid, for Labor Day. Required vacation? I couldn't pack my bags fast enough.

My partner works in the outdoor business and his time off is actually slightly more limited when it comes to last-second trips. Luckily we were both able to sneak away for a week in the wild.
