Girls' Weekend: Humboldt, California

I met Kate in Antarctica. We were crammed into a tiny Russian research vessel, and of the people who were making the journey, only a few were American. We had no issues finding each other.

Not only was Kate from America, she was from California. Not only was she from California, she lived in San Francisco. Not only did she live in San Francisco, she lived in my neighborhood. And not only did she live in the same neighborhood, she owned a house on my block.

Obviously we just became best friends.

Kate also has a penance for adventuring and weekending warrioring. Last 4th of July, we packed up her little Jetta and headed off to Northern California to see some big trees, old highways, and the greatest parks this state has to offer.

Weekend trips with great friends are simply the best.
